Our third day of course begins with a very celebrative and special dance. We begin with some latin or party rhythms and then go over to another energetical song, with one very enthusiastic lyric: “On our way to heaven”. In the end of the dance session, we do an exercise which involes the whole group, allows us to open up and connect better to each other. One person is leading the group dance and everyone else is following their moves. After a few minutes we change dance instructor and move our bodies in different ways, while having fun together.
Before our session starts, Meditation Master Shiva Girish jokes around and laughs (apparently) without no reason, initiating a little lauging meditation in the group.
Today we are learning how to give Group Sound Healing session with the technique of sound bath. For this purpose it would be best to make people lie down in a half-moo shape, with their heads directed towards the singing bowls.
Every participants gets 10-15 minutes to play a sound bath concert for the rest of the group. Slowly we are building up the sounds, starting with single, simple sounds, then amplifying the sound and the vibration, eventually bringing in some deep and rhythmic vibration. In the middle of our sound bath, all the vibrations and tones merge together to create an orchestra atmosphere.
When one person is playing, the other participants are lying down in Savasana, exept one person who has the task to witness the concert. This is very useful to give each other feedback afterwards.
Staying with our feet on the floor at the Singing Bowl Training
For becoming a healer with singing bowls, techniques are not enough. Besides practice time and intuition, some ethical guidelines are also needed.
For example one such ethic of the healer is, that we cannot guarantee a certain result of a session, we can only set an intention. Neither can we take responsability for the health condition, the feelings or the state of mind of our clients or students.
Some of us participants felt, that we needed more grounding rituals before or after an intense sound healing practice. This is a good grounding exercise you can do, if you feel that you need to come back with your feet on the ground: Come into a standing position, feet a little bit apart and firmly positioned on the floor. Spread out our toes, to feel even more contact surface to mother earth. Imagine that roots are growing out of our foot soles 3 meter deep into the earth. From above you can visualize a grounding energy flowing dow, touching the crown of your head and traveling through your bodies, through your feet, deep into the eart. You can bend your knees slighty to feel even more stable. Use your breath while you repeat this grounding practice for a few minutes.

Staying present with the feelings that arise through Singing Bowl Sessions
In the last days of our Singing Bowl Training we have been giving individual and group sessions to each other for longer and longer times.
Slowly we are familiarizing ourselves with the vibration. We are opening up to the healing of the singing bowls. Many of us participants experienced their own condition and feelings as intensified. Tears of joy and of sadness, fear and jealousy, all of these very human emotions found their way to the surface and made us see how much we are alive right now! But how can you release on of these feelings or emotions that are so often uncomfortable and awkward? First one needs to become aware of it. This needs a certain degree of self-observation and the willingness to look at your own imperfections with a compassionate heart. When you become aware of your feeling, try to remain still and observe it from the outside. In which part of your body is this sensation staying? What exactly do you feel on a physical level? Is it a contraction, a vibration or a racing? Does the feeling change, when you observe it and just breathe into it, or does it remain the same? Do not try to overthink, where the feeling comes from. Remain with what you feel in your body in the present moment and notice even the slightest changes.
And how about speaking your feeling out? Can you name it and express it to your friend, teacher or stranger? Feelings help us to connect to each other as human beings. Therefore it is always a good practice to share your feeling, without making anyone else than yourself responsible for what is going on inside of you. What does it do with you, if you state your feeling truthfully?
If your feeling might be very unpleasant, you can look for a small detail in your body or your surroundings, which has a calming or soothing effect on you. Then you focus all your attention on this small detail and observe how the shift of perspective can make you feel better.
Feelings are not constant, they are temporary. We can learn how to observe the transformation of our feelings, from fear to excitment, from shame to pleasure and from sadness to love. And eventually we find out how we can feel both of these opposites at the same time, how we can pendulate and how we can detach, to become the calm observer.
Conclusion of the day: This day was all about connecting to each other. We started with an ecstatic dance. Towards the end of it, one person guided the group dance, in this way we took turns and were able to experience each and everyone’s dancing style. Through a little spontaneous laughing meditation, we connected our smiles and exercised our bellies. Next, we gave a sound bath concert to the whole group. It was a very exciting and empowering experience to play your improvised concert for the training group, taking them on a journey to relaxation. We were familiarized with the ethical guidelines for a sound healer and practiced a grounding exercise, since many of us felt that singing bowls make you fly high very fast. Grounding is best done standing up, imagining a strong connection to the feet and the eart and breathing into these bodily roots… We also got many more input for the Tibetan Singing Bowl Contact Massage: Body positioning, specific points on which to place the bowls, smooth transition. For a lot of us participants, these one-hour contact sessions with singing bowls have been very intese and some emotions were released also. We feel very alive and vibrant lately, as if all our sensations and our bodily perception were amplified.
As the last day of our training approaches, each and everyone of us feels that something is changing in themselves and for their lives…
